Location

From the initial letter to participants:

"The location of the workshop is La Casa de Maria at Ladera Lane. It is in the coastal foothills of Montecito California, just outside Santa Barbara. It boasts great views of the ocean and mountains, and the food is reportedly very good. We have reserved a block of single rooms for everyone, but they will require you to share shower and bathroom facilities, dormitory-style."
